About 16thColony

16thColony is a free-spirited, creative, contemporary line, designed by Renee Rogers and meticulously constructed in Southern California. An artist at heart, Renee brings a unique vision to each collection and to the brand as a whole. 

After graduating from FIDM with a degree in Fashion Design, Renee designed for several large apparel companies but always knew she would someday have a line of her own. After being laid off from her denim design job during the economic downturn, she knew that it was time for her to take a chance on herself.

Renee had been sewing one-off pieces for herself for as long as she could remember and it always made her day when strangers stopped her in the streets to comment on one of her own designs. With 16thColony, Renee aimed to reproduce those pieces and share a part of her personal sense of style with a larger community. 

Although the brand has grown from it’s humble start in Renee’s garage - it remains true to its’ roots: Independently owned and playing by it’s own rules, 16thColony is more than just another line, it is a true labor of love.

Each piece from 16thColony is designed to evoke a carefree, mysterious vibe.
